This three-day weekend will feature the Texas Sounds and Cities Music Conference held at Billy Bob's Texas and Tannahill's Tavern. The one-day conference hosted by Hear Fort Worth and the Texas Music Office will feature educational panels, networking mixers and more.
16th annual Lonestar Film Festival
Visit Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Film Commission are partnering with the Lone Star Film Society to showcase films from around the world and educational panels at the16th Annual Lonestar Film Festival. Screenings will be held at the ISIS Theater and Cowboy Channel Studios with panels at venues throughout the Stockyards.
Since its founding sixteen years ago by local film advocates, and legendary actor and Fort Worth native Bill Paxton, the Lone Star Film Society has provided film education programs for hundreds of students interested in filmmaking in the Fort Worth area. The Lone Star Film Festival has grown into a premier destination for filmmakers, producers, industry professionals, and film enthusiasts.
Fort Worth native, writer/director Taylor Sheridan will be the 2022 Larry McMurtry Award recipient at the Lone Star Film Festival Gala. Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount+ hit, 1883, filmed in Fort Worth over the summer of 2021 in the Stockyards National Historic District and surrounding ranches.
Singer/songwriter Ryan Bingham will be presented with the 2022 Stephen Bruton Award and actor LaMonica Garrett from 1883 will be presented with the 2022 Spotlight Award at the Gala.
The Texas Country Music Awards will take place at Billy Bob’s Texas on November 13. Stockyards Heritage will also host “Texas Country Music Weekend” with acoustic performances, full band showdowns and a free country concert. All Texas Country Music Weekend Events will take place on the big stage at the Stockyards Exchange building and are free to the public except for the Texas Country Music Awards show.
